The Garden Network is a decentralized network that I am currently working on. The protocol is being built on the goals of being fully decentralized and should in theory be able to be put on top of any communication protocol, even pigeon if you insisted. It does NOT rely on DNS unlike the AT Protocol. In all fairness, the AT Protocol could theoretically work without DNS although somewhat crippled without reliable PLC coverage.

The goal of the decentralized protocol will be to build a Discord alternative on it. A lot of people have asked me why I would do such a thing when Matrix exists. But let's be real for a second, Matrix is federated not decentralized and not that easy to use. I want to do better and fundamentally different from the start.

The project is very much still in early development even though I've been working on it for a while. Making a future-proof decentralized and secure transport layer protocol is NOT easy. I'd rather spend a lot of time at the fundamental stages and make sure it's good and safe from the beginning than have regrets later on.
